•	GoPro, whose share price has been falling for some time now, announced its 2015 Q4 estimates yesterday. They were really bad (the company screwed up pricing its Hero 4 camera last year), and its stock fell almost 25 percent in after-hours trading. The combination camera maker and action sports media company also said it's cutting 7 percent of workforce, and its media unit chief Zander Lurie is headed for the exit to take the CEO job at SurveyMonkey. •	Al Jazeera's ill-fated American broadcast TV network is shutting down in April, which means potentially 700 employees will lose their jobs. The reasons: The rough outlook for little-watched cable channels in 2016, and the low price of oil (currently around $30 a barrel) that's putting pressure on the Qatari government, which owns Al Jazeera. •	The steady drip of executives leaving Marissa Mayer's floundering Yahoo continues. This month it's Yahoo corporate development VP Steve Fan, who's now at Tencent, and global public policy chief and deputy general counsel Tekedra Mawakana, who's leaving to become eBay's VP of government relations. •	In the midst of all the media gloom and doom, some people are still want to raise money for new ventures. Such as The Verge co-founder and ex-Bloomberg digital chief Josh Topolsky, who is looking to raise $5-$10 million for a digital luxury lifestyle media company. [Noah Kulwin \| Re/code]
•	Although people didn't really start freaking out about unicorn valuations until October, the whole 2015 calendar year was slower for venture capital.
