Twitter is considering expanding the tweet character limit from 140 to 10,000. Though a number of people say that this is a gimmick for Twitter to try and stay relevant, it's more likely a continuation of a trend among social media platforms to host more content. In short, an arrangement that will likely continue well into 2016.
