Knock, knock. Is this thing on? This is Kara Swisher, remember me? Last time I was up in your grill, I was planning an epic lineup for Code 2020. As it turned out, not so much, as we have all hunkered down to get through this unprecedented global pandemic.
It's been a time of so many irreplaceable losses, including losing touch with communities like those that have been such an important part of Code for decades.
The good news is that this should end very soon. We are confident we'll be able to safely hold Code 2021 as an in-person event, following CDC guidelines and venue protocols.
Barring any unforeseen event, our official dates are September 27-29, 2021, in Los Angeles.
I am not sure what Code 2021 will be yet and I am thinking about some amazing changes, but there's going to be a LOT to talk about when we return later this year: the hottest IPO market since 1999, the development of a vaccine in record time, the record scientific breakthrough of vaccine development, antitrust lawsuits against Amazon and Facebook, China, climate change tech, and so much more.
