Automotive-obsessed CES 2016 began with two major car tech deals yesterday: GM's $500 million investment in Lyft, and Ford's new partnership with Amazon and dronemaker DJI. The Ford announcement suggests that the company might have talked about an arrangement with Google, but contrary to earlier reports, nothing final came from it. Ford also agreed to put its software platform in Toyota's cars, so the carmakers don't have to just cede that territory to Apple and Google.
